Why 2018 Golden Globes will always be known as my favourite

Nothing will ever compare to this year’s Golden Globes. The sea of black that walked the red carpet had nothing to do with best dressed lists and it didn’t matter who you were wearing. In fact for the first time ever I didn’t tune in to watch the red carpet. I tuned in to watch the women who were standing together in solidarity, against sexual harassment, to give a voice to those who, perhaps, cant find theirs. I tuned in to witness women empowering women, and true gentlemen supporting a movement in which Women are heard and valued and respected. And to one of my all-time favourite Women, Oprah, your speech was one that I hope they play through classrooms, and in workplaces, and everywhere from Parliaments to Prisons. And I wish all the young women, and women who are young at heart remember these words, spoken by the great Oprah Winfrey “For too long, women have not been heard or believed if they dared to speak their truth to the power of those men, but their time is up. Their Time is up! I want all the girls watching here, now to know that a new day is on the horizon, and when that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight — and some pretty phenomenal men — fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say #MeToo again.”
