Shake your bon bon. Consider it an early Mother’s Day gift to myself, I went to see the fabulous Ricky Martin One World tour on Friday night with three other mums (one of which is mine) who all inspire me to be a better mum.
Ricky, Ricky, Ricky. What can I say?! I sure did shake my bon bon. We had such a great night out and thanks to Visa Entertainment for the awesome pre-show experience with programme, drinks and more.
The concert was incredible, and while he did sing quite a few songs in Spanish, the crowd seemed not to care that they couldn’t understand the lyrics and everybody was feeling the music. Of course the back-up dancers were easy on the eyes for both the men and the women and Ricky Martin’s duet with Delta Goodrem and then his duet with ‘The Voice’ contestant, Jackson Thomas, were two of my highlights of the night.
During a costume change, we got a glimpse of his humanitarian work (via the large screens) with The Ricky Martin Foundation. His foundation is dedicated to children’s well-being including health and education.
Let’s face it, I was really there for one song in particular… yes we all know it and every time I hear The cup of life it brings me back to a time in my life when I was footloose and fancy free. Seems the crowd waited all night for it too because when Ricky ended the show on it the entire audience were up dancing (and waving their hands wildly – Special thanks to the lady sitting next to me who hit me in the head with her hand waving excitement). It’s amazing how music can do that to you. And according to Ricky Martin we should all dance for at least 5 minutes every day – apparently it is good for the soul.
So I am off to do my 5 minutes of dancing. Happy Mother’s Day to all the gorgeous Mothers out there, especially mine!
Until next time…
