Naked VS Naked Basics Palette. Which is BEST?Guest blogger image 1

Some of you mailed me a few weeks back asking the above question – Which Urban Decay Naked palettes are best? I had not tried any of these up until two months ago and now I’m addicted. I have only tried these two so I cannot speak for the other two palettes, Naked 2 and Naked 3. I was a MAC FOR LIFE girl when it came to eye shadows as I have very sensitive eyes and felt they were best for me.

I have tried and tested the Naked and Naked Basics and want to give you my verdict.

The Naked Basics

It has 6 individual shades, 5 matte and 1 shimmer.

Venus – Matte off-white

Foxy – Cream matte also in Naked 2

Walk of Shame – Pinky matte light

Naked 2 – Taupe matte

Faint – Dark matte brown

Crave – Deep black matte

The Naked Basics palette is much smaller in size and is a very neutral palette, very much suited for daytime looks.

The Naked Palette

It has 12 individual shades, 2 matte and 10 shimmer.

Virgin – Pale shimmer nude    Sin – Pale frosty pink  Naked – Matte beige/brown. Sidecar – Bronze shimmery brown with slight red undertones to it. Buck – Deeper beige/brown Half Baked – Copper metallic bronze Smog – Dark bronze Darkhorse – Chocolate brown/bronze. Toasted – Medium dark pinky brown Hustle – Plum chocolate brown Creep – Black/Blue shimmer Gunmetal – Grey/Blue metallic

Much bigger however has a beautiful soft velvet case.

You can create much more looks from this palette for both day/night.

Here’s how the Naked palette looks on the skin:

Which is a better investment?

Personally, I am loving the Naked palette. I think it can give you a variety of looks and perfect to take you from day to night in an instant. It has beautiful matte shades along with the darker smoker metallic shades too. For me the Naked Basics is just too ‘basic’ excuse the pun but it is simply and the amount of looks you can create is limited.

I have the Naked palette, should I invest in the Naked Basics also?

If you have the Naked palette already then, yes I would say  you could get the Basics also so that you had more matte colours to blend with your shimmery tones of the Naked palette.

You can buy both Urban Decay palettes on www.belk.com in their Beauty/Fragrance section.
