Firstly, let me say (and I have said it 1000 times) I am not a fan of foundation. It’s sticky, it itches and I feel like my skin is suffocating so suffice it to say I don’t wear it… correction, I never used to wear it. I have found possibly the best foundation crossed with a tinted moisturizer that I have ever used. Introducing BECCA Luminous skin colour.
A little bit about it (straight from the BECCA website)…
A combination tinted moisturizer and sheer foundation, Luminous Skin Colour visibly improves the complexion, yet looks incredibly natural on the skin while offering skin care, makeup, and sun protection in one ingenious product. Contains anti-oxidant vitamins, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic ingredients with a broad spectrum SPF 25+.
Okay, so that is the official take on the foundation but let me give you my take… IT IS AMAZING! I can wear it all day, it never itches, it doesn’t make my skin flake when I take it off, its super lightweight, it gives the most amazing natural dewy coverage, it doesn’t look ‘caked on’ and it’s not orange, all the things I look for in a foundation and all this for only $68. It wasn’t by accident that this super foundation fell into my lap, my makeup artist extraordinaire Barbara Mordini told me I had to try it. Of course every time she does my make up I take my own tinted moisturizer with me but this time she insisted I should use hers and I am so glad I did.
Along with the foundation from Barbara was a beach tint, and possibly one of the best summer products to have. Applied on the cheeks or lips for a summer glow this stuff is incredible, available in 8 colours it would have to be my favourite and latest obsession, I bought mine in ‘Guava’ and when applying to your lips be sure to pat it on with your fingers rather than rub it on. $42
Mixed with the beach tint is the shimmering skin perfector in Opal to give the ultimate summer glow. Applied on the top of the cheek bone alone and mixed in with the beach tint on the apple of the cheek this multi purpose luminizer is the perfect addition for that ‘barely there’ make up. $66
Barbara is my secret weapon when I am going out, she has been prepping me for all the important functions for more than 10 years and I have never been disappointed. Lucky for you guys she is based in Mt Lawley and her studio offers make up lessons in addition to her make up artistry. I was lucky enough to try the new quad eyeshadow called ‘sun chaser’, these colours are super natural (there is a pattern forming here) and I had a lesson with Barbara on contouring (a little hint… it’s all in the brush). If you would like to learn some insider tips and tricks, you can find all Barbara’s contact details at the bottom of this post.
All BECCA products can be purchased from Barbara and she will take the time to work out which shades are right for you.
Barbara and I would love to give away a BECCA ultimate eyes colour quad eyeshadow in sun chaser valued at $65 to one lucky STYLECRUSH reader, all you need to do is follow Barbara on Facebook and leave a comment underneath this post telling us why you would love to win, it’s that simple!
