I have to share with you all the latest book I am reading, Equal Justice by Rabia Siddique.
In a nutshell so far… Rabia is the daughter of an Indian Muslim father and white Australian mother who spent the first 5 years of her life in India after being born here in Perth and then grew up in Perth from the age of 5. She moved to London with her then husband after graduating from law school and decided to join the British Army as a military lawyer just days after 9/11. Rabia was eventually stationed in Iraq and it was during this time that she was taken hostage as she tried to negotiate the release of two kidnapped British SAS operatives. With a childhood that would make you weep and an almost arranged marriage in India this woman is truly inspirational.
I am currently only half way through the book and normally I would finish a book before I post about it but this is one amazing story and I felt I had to share it! This is the story of a brave, independent, strong Perth woman who has overcome so much to be awarded a Queen’s Commendation in 2006 and was Runner-up for Australian Woman of the Year in the U.K in 2009.
Do yourself a favour and grab a copy. Now, back to my book…
