I am in my last year as a ’20 something’. For the next 10 months I will be 29 and then after that I will be officially old (according to my children). I know, I know… thirty is the new twenty and forty is the new thirty but I remember when my mum was thirty and she seemed old (a little shout out to the best mum ever!) The funny thing about being the same age as you remember your parent being, is that you don’t feel at all as old as you thought they were. Now I know my mum isn’t old, at 51 she is better than ever (and she gets the compliments to prove it – Just ask my sister and I who are often mistaken for her sisters) but to me she has always been mum. I was eight years old when my mum turned thirty and as it turns out I too will have an eight year old daughter when I turn thirty…
All of a sudden I am so very much aware that today is the youngest I am ever going to be, and tomorrow I will be a little older. So in preparation of fighting the signs of aging I have decided that Cetaphil wash alone probably wont cut it as my skincare routine and have decided to get serious. I try and eat organic where I can and buy organic anything (where I can) and so when I went in search of some new skin care I went straight to KORA Organics (the line that Miranda Kerr founded). I have been using her wash, exfoliating cream and moisturiser (she also has just released a tinted moisturiser for those of you who are still in search of one and I have road tested it and quite like it… Chantecaille is a little heavier so for those of you who want something lighter, try this one!) for the last two weeks… and WOW! This line is beautiful, soft, gentle and is fantastic for my very sensitive skin. There are different products for different skin types within the range and that is just one of the things I love about it.
I am using the oily/combination products and it feels like a treat on my skin, not only do I love the smell (note that not all of you will) but the textures are divine. My favourite item from the range would have to be the Exfoliating cream, it contains a unique blend of organically grown Oat Flour and Bamboo to gently buff away dead skin cells helping to reveal a smoother, softer complexion. It is filled with Essential Oils to nourish and cleanse the skin and is gentle enough to be used on all skin types including my sensitive skin! There are also products to help with blemishes and products to calm your skin and eye creams.
If you haven’t yet thought about your skincare I urge you to try KORA, it is available from David Jones stores nationally.
Oh, and a note to my daughter who can now read these… YOUR MUM IS NOT OLD!! xx
