I love bold colours, and animal prints and quite often anything that sparkles (I’m assuming I am in the majority with the sparkle bit). A friend of mine doesn’t care too much for the bling or prints – and last week we had a debate about some ‘blinged out’ grey gum boots that we spotted in the school yard – I loved them but her reaction was “they would be so much better without those crystals”, which I then responded with “but then they would be ordinary”.
On the weekend I picked up a pair of very ordinary Ray Bans, I tried them on and instantly I wanted them. After all these years of bypassing the Ray Bans I now found myself very drawn to them. It happened again the other day when we went out for lunch and the menu was offering up souffle, but all I really felt like was a Banana Split…
Maybe what I crave is a little more ‘ordinary’… of everything? or maybe its just a case of my friend starting to rub off on me?… Either way, if you see me wearing Ray Bans and eating Banana Splits, know that it is me… and maybe it has been me all along.
