Anybody who knows me well knows that I love fashion but more so (if its possible) shoes, and I have to say I think it is in my blood, passed down to me like a genetic disorder (thanks for that dad, I know you used to complain about my shoe purchases but I actually get that from you! ) I am drawn to a new pair of shoes, I’m not sure if it is the smell of the leather, or the excitement of the box with two beautiful shoes wrapped in tissue or if it is the fact that I know shoes can change EVERYTHING! A great pair of shoes can take your outfit to another stratosphere…. and who doesn’t want that? A plain black dress can have instant “wow” with the right pair of shoes or if you want to dress up your jeans and t-shirt add a pair of shoes that scream ‘look at me’ to go from great to glamour.
Growing up I would constantly steal my mothers stilettos and dream of the day that I would be able to wear those high shoes that would clip clop on the floor…. Of course back then I had never heard of Christian Louboutin or Valentino and Jimmy Choo was yet to exist….but it didn’t matter it was all about that high heel. As soon as I “grew up” I made my first purchase on a pair of stilettos (which I have still kept to this day) and my love of heels has never wavered. I had someone tell me the other day “The first thing I do when I see you is look at your shoes” – pinch me, I just had a Carrie Bradshaw moment….
One of my beautiful friends (and loyal readers) Lisa has put in a request for a post dedicated to shoes…. She wants to know where she can get some amazing shoes (flats as well as stilettos) this season… So Lis, this one is for you!
